Sixth Form students attended a voluntary workshop which focused specifically upon the psychology of a positive mind-set and how to use this as a tool to achieve your very best in life.

Students worked with Clinical Nurse Specialist and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Elise Wild, to learn about and explore key strategies for managing stress, dealing with anxiety, coping with time constraints and reflecting on one’s own strengths and weaknesses.

The workshop gave students the opportunity to share their own experiences of dealing with difficult situations as well to celebrate successes and praise the achievements they have so far made since being in the Sixth Form.

Sarah Cresswell, Head of Sixth Form, said: “It is important for pupils to understand the connection between their mind-sets and their attitude towards school, and indeed life beyond. Pupils found the workshop incredibly valuable and commented that it provided them with the chance to evaluate how their own mind-set often impacts upon their behaviour, mood and attainment. It was fantastic to see students so engaged.”
